Lincolnshire climate leadership reversed.

Lincolnshire goes from national leader to climate change blocker despite the science not changing and local impacts getting worse.

Prior to May 2025, Lincolnshire County Council had been making good progress on meeting its climate change and net zero goals. It had reduced its carbon emissions as a council by 74.6% since the national 1990 baseline, a reduction from 55,000 tonnes per year to around 14,000 tonnes in 2024. They were ahead of their target to be Net Zero by 2050 and ahead of government targets.
